Senai Airport City chief officer Gan Seng Keong said the industrial park is a key hub for industries involved in high-tech manufacturing, research and development (R&D) as well as technological innovation.
The Johorian airport company is a member MMC Group, the master developer of a 1,100-hectares (2,718-acre) integrated industrial development known as Senai Airport City in Iskandar Malaysia.
In a statement, Gan acknowledged that Linco Technology’s decision to establish a presence in Johor, Malaysia is expected to significantly contribute to the state’s artificial intelligence (AI) industry growth.
“Linco Technology’s investment in the dry process of the semiconductor system in package (SiP) underscores Senai Airport City’s position as an investors’ choice for the semiconductor segments, particularly with green technology applications.
“This collaboration between Malaysia and Taiwan’s technology investors promises to leapfrog the local technological supply chain,” Gain said.
Lincotec specialises in developing and manufacturing high-precision sputtering and plasma etching equipment. It is the world’s leading supplier of sputtering equipment for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding in SiP applications.
Linco Technology chairman Leon Chen said the investment in a new facility is a crucial step in the company’s efforts to expand operations in the green technology segment.
“Senai Airport City provides us with the ideal location and infrastructure to scale up our operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
“This is an exciting opportunity to grow our business and to foster collaborations on green technology initiatives to drive long-term success in Malaysia and beyond,” Chen added.
Senai Airport City said Linotec’s investment underscores the airport’s growing prominence as a strategic investment destination for technology companies aiming to tap into the Asia-Pacific market.
The synergy between Linco Technology and global companies in the area is expected to accelerate Johor’s growth in the semiconductor sector while supporting advancements in AI technologies.
