To make buying and selling secondhand items even more convenient, popular multi-category classifieds marketplace Carousell has rolled out a suite of new features in Singapore. Users now can enjoy a more seamless shopping experience where users can add multiple listings from the same seller to Cart, checkout with one click via the ‘Buy’ button, and receive items with tracked shipping status via Carousell Official Delivery. This continues Carousell Group’s efforts in setting new standards in trust and convenience for secondhand transactions across its brands in the region.
Making selling more convenient with Ninja Van drop-offs and function to offer custom delivery promotions
While Carousell is best known for simplifying the classifieds experience to just ‘snap, list, sell’ in 30 seconds, the platform aims to make it even easier and more convenient to sell. Hence, Carousell has added a new Carousell Official Delivery shipping option, on top of door-to-door shipping, to give busy sellers more flexibility and choice to opt for which delivery method best suits them.
Carousell has partnered with Singapore’s leading courier and logistics solutions provider Ninja Van to offer a drop-off parcel pick-up option at over 800 Ninja Points. Users can enjoy affordable shipping rates, and sellers have the flexibility to decide if the delivery costs will be borne by them or the buyer. To give sellers more mechanics to drive more sales, sellers also have the option to offer their own delivery promotions with a minimum qualifying quantity or amount spent.
Making buying more convenient with Cart and integrated returns
To make it seamless for buyers and sellers, Carousell enhanced the one-click checkout feature ‘Buy’ button that allows for secure payment, integrated deliveries and additional Buyer Protection policies last year. Using the ‘Buy’ button feature as a foundation, Carousell recently launched a Cart feature where users can add multiple listings from the same seller with the ‘Buy’ button enabled to their shopping cart and conveniently check out, just like shopping on any ecommerce platforms.
As part of the ‘Buy’ button’s Buyer Protection policies, buyers are able to request for a full refund and return for non-delivery or if the item has issues. To make this returns process more seamless, an integrated returns process was launched in February where buyers can arrange for returns on the platform via Carousell Official Delivery that comes with tracking updates.
Commitment to making buying and selling secondhand as trusted and convenient as the process of buying brand new
Carousell’s Vice President and Head of Commercial Vishal Salunkhe said, “We believe that accelerating the future of secondhand is through recommerce — that is, making buying and selling secondhand items as trusted and convenient as the process of buying brand new. We have been rolling out several features such as the Carousell Certified programme that allows users to buy secondhand items that have been inspected, and Sell to Carousell programme that allows users to sell directly to Carousell for instant cash. These new features help to make buying and selling secondhand a lot more convenient for users, as well as make transactions safer through escrow payment and tracked integrated delivery. We will be continuing to launch more platform features and enhancements in the coming months.”
