Freight forwarder Acuity International Sdn Bhd aims to substantially increase Malaysia’s capacity to compete in the global sector which is estimated to grow at a CAGR of more than 6% in the next 5 years, leading to a market value of US$9.1 Trillion by 2027.
The current local and regional logistics and cargo markets are largely dominated by the US, China and other East Asian countries.
Looking to establish itself in this growing market, Acuity International is taking the next step to boost its relevance in the industry by opening its intermodal container office space in Kelang, Selangor.
“We have been around since the pandemic and this launch of our brand into the market is a crucial step towards our ambitions of establishing Malaysia as a regional force with new strategies married with technology in the logistics industry,” says Vivian Chan, founder and CEO of Acuity International.
“This milestone is not only to celebrate our efforts but to also expand the ecosystem to forge more fruitful partnerships, bring in more job opportunities and prepare our future logisticians with the right resources which will allow the industry to better align demands in a rapidly changing technology-driven landscape.”
The grand opening was officiated by Chan, together with Andrew A/L Arokiasamy, founder of That Quick Services Sdn Bhd, and Abu Musa Fakhruddin Bin Ahmad Azlan, founder of Core Construction Enterprise.
In conjunction with the event, Acuity International made a special offer of 200 lots of Acuity shares worth RM4 million to the guests. The shareholder initiative seeks to enhance its services within the Malaysian market and create new partnerships. Customers who purchased the lots during the event were given RM 25,000 worth of export and import vouchers with Acuity International.
Acuity International is a transportation, logistics and storage company founded in 2020. What started with a profit earning of about RM300,000 in their first year, Acuity International’s is forecasting sales of RM36 million in 2022.
It aims to provide a holistic approach to the logistics industry by creating a sustainable ecosystem that doesn’t only provide transportation solutions but also contributes to the society through effective partnerships with businesses, colleges and non-governmental organisations.
With its slogan “We Care, We Serve, We Resolve”, Acuity International has initiated several CSR activities such as Acuity Jungle, which aims to help protect the local flora and fauna. It also contributed a 3% yearly profit allocation to assist those affected by unemployment during the Covid-19 pandemic.
