ACO Tech Sdn Bhd and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd have further cemented their collaboration in the smart mobility ecosystem. The pact was announced at the official launch of ACO Tech’s ATLAS operating system, a next-generation automotive infotainment operating system in Malaysia.
The collaboration will focus on Huawei Cloud technology and ACO Tech’s expertise for smart mobility.
Cloud Alpha Edge, a Cloud AI infrastructure by Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Huawei Malaysia, ensures data locality and sovereignty for enterprises of the public and private sectors in Malaysia.
As the automotive industry continues to rapidly evolve, the ATLAS will see a further upgrade and expansion of the in-vehicle operating system that incorporates the Cloud Alpha Edge solutions to build the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) Big Data Telematics Service providers (TSPs) platform, Huawei Malaysia said in a statement.
By tapping into Huawei Cloud, ACO Tech’s customers will enjoy the power of a reliable, secure, agile and future-ready cloud platform and services that speed up, automate and improve businesses.
ACO Tech will also leverage Huawei’s Big Data and AI technologies to bring more benefits to the IoV market and further extend the invitation to other Smart Mobility industry partners to jointly build a more comprehensive as well as thriving IoV ecosystem.
The launch of ATLAS took place in Ampang with the Minister of Transport, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong as the guest of honour. Also present were the chairman of ACO Tech, Dr Li Chunrong, CEO of ACO Tech, Li Pu, and CEO of Huawei Malaysia, Michael Yuan.
“We are proud to announce the extension of our collaboration with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) as part of ACO Tech’s regional initiatives to jointly developed cloud-based automotive solutions in a bid to provide innovative, intuitive and localised in-car experiences that make perfect sense to the automotive industry,” said ACO’s Li.
Yuan added that Huawei Malaysia strongly believes that ATLAS is crucial in making a difference in the competitive scenario within the automotive industry and that the platform will enhance customer experience and usability while innovating the company by increasing its business value.
“Cloud computing is the catalyst for the digital transformation of the industry, and we are convinced that the services Huawei Cloud provide are essential in pushing the digital drive across the industry. We are determined to provide reliable, secure, and cost-effective cloud services to help organisations of all sizes grow in today’s intelligent world.
“By incorporating our Big Data and AI technologies, ACO Tech will be able to bring more benefits to the IoV market and invite industry Smart Mobility partners to jointly build a thriving and robust IoV ecosystem. This partnership will also further promote the adoption of smart mobility lifestyles in Malaysia and across the region, bringing digital to every car,” said Yuan.
“This initiative reflects our continuing commitment to our partners that we are here for the long run. We want to transform the business landscape as we know it and capitalise on the potential of advanced technologies.”
Cloud Alpha Edge, as Malaysia’s first hyper-scale public Cloud, will continue to serve as a platform to bridge the digital divide and harness the potential of innovation in organisations for a seamless and optimal Cloud experience.
Launched last September, the ATLAS OS is a system that has been wholly led and developed by a Malaysian team and is an entirely new setup that runs on Android 10 and above. ATLAS has provided infotainment services for over 10,000 in-vehicle users to date and is expected to reach 100,000 by the end of 2022.
