Carousell conducted a 2024 survey to explore ways to encourage more people to buy and sell secondhand furniture. The findings revealed that 62% of users who have never bought secondhand furniture and 41% of users who have never sold secondhand furniture identified delivery as a key consideration, citing concerns such as the hassle and cost of arranging logistics. Addressing these insights, Carousell partnered with GoGoX to provide a simple and convenient solution for large item transactions.
GoGoX brings its expertise, having collaborated with leading furniture brands like IKEA and HipVan. The service includes key features such as assembly, disassembly, and damage coverage, ensuring a smooth end-to-end experience for users.
Over the past three years, the most in-demand preloved furniture in Singapore are bed frames, cabinets and tables. Recognising this demand, Carousell piloted delivery services for bed frames and mattresses in December 2024. Following the pilot’s success, buyers and sellers can now use Carousell Official Delivery to transport tables, sofas, cabinets, TV consoles, television sets, washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, wine cellars and dishwashers.
Carousell Official Delivery simplifies the entire process for buying bulky items. Users can view delivery fees upfront on the listing page, schedule pick-up and delivery dates, and pay for both the item and delivery within the Carousell platform. Rates are competitive, starting from $35 for side tables, and include services like dismantling and assembly provided by GoGoX’s expert team. To ensure peace of mind, Carousell and GoGoX offer damage coverage during transit, ensuring prompt compensation in the unlikely event of damage.
