DKSH Business Unit Healthcare, a leading strategic partner for companies aiming to expand their healthcare business in Asia and beyond, has entered into a strategic partnership with Alpro Pharmacy, the largest prescription pharmacy chain in Malaysia. This collaboration is designed to increase access to essential medication for patients nationwide by addressing affordability challenges.
Additionally, it aims to improve the well-being of Thalassemia patients, strengthen Malaysia’s healthcare system, and align with Alpro Pharmacy’s ONCOHelp initiative—a one-stop center for cancer patients across Malaysia.
Under the agreement, DKSH’s Patient Access Program (PAP) will provide financial support to patients at select Alpro Pharmacy locations.
DKSH’s Patient Solutions support network is growing across eight markets in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, positively impacting the lives of patients, healthcare professionals, and healthcare brands through various patient support programs. These programs address challenges patients face during their treatment journeys, focusing on accessibility, education, and convenience.
By listening to the needs of its stakeholders, DKSH continuously works to overcome challenges in healthcare delivery across APAC. This partnership with Alpro Pharmacy will increase drug accessibility for patients, leading to better adherence and improved treatment outcomes.
Joelle Wong Pei Sen, Chief Pharmaceutical Officer of ONCOHelp at Alpro Pharmacy, commented, “DKSH’s extensive experience in managing Patient Access Programs across the Asia Pacific region is invaluable for our patients. Together, we are confident in our ability to enhance healthcare accessibility and improve the quality of life for many individuals across Malaysia.”
Sandeep Tewari, Head Country Management and Vice President of Healthcare at DKSH Malaysia, added, “Our mission at DKSH is to enrich people’s lives by providing better healthcare solutions. We aim to address the challenges patients face throughout their treatment journeys, particularly by making high-cost drugs more accessible.
“Through this collaboration, patients can conveniently obtain medications from designated Alpro Pharmacy outlets near their treating hospitals, ensuring that healthcare is accessible to all. This partnership also supports Thalassemia patients and contributes to the overall improvement of Malaysia’s healthcare landscape.”
